Managing Products and Content | Adding New Products

To create a new product, go to Products > Add Product in your Floranext dashboard.

First, choose the kind of product that you are adding. Is this item for the POS, your website or a website add-on?

Website Products

Website products are searchable in the POS and can be ordered through your Floranext website so long as they are Enabled and in a visible product category.

Product Name: This will be the display name of your product.

Product ID: This can be any code you would like. If your shop already has ID numbers assigned to your products, enter it here. If you do not have ID numbers assigned, you can make up your own. (Note: All Product IDs must be unique.)

Product Description: Enter a description for your product. This will be visible on the website.

Price: List the price of the product.

Upgrade Amount: If you have a bouquet of a dozen roses and you want to offer an upgrade to 24 roses, you can enter the upgrade price here. Remember, this price is what will be added to the total. (Eg. If the original price is $25.00 and the upgraded price should be $35.00, just enter $10.00 into the "Upgrade Amount" field.)

Image: Click Browse... or Choose File... and browse your computer for the image to upload. You can add secondary images as well.

Reporting Category: If you have a POS product category that you would like for the product to fall under, you may select it from this drop-down.

Browse-Only Product: This is a feature we offer in case you have a product that you would just like to display and not necessarily sell as-is from the website. An example of this would be a personalized wedding bouquet.

Product Categories

After you finish entering the above fields, it is very important to now assign it to a category. If you do not do this before saving, you risk losing the product information you just entered.

Make sure you check "All Categories," not just the sub-category.

For example, if you're creating a Birthday arrangement, you'll want to click the checkbox next to [Default Category], [Occasions], and [Birthday].

Product Options

Here you can enter in customized options. For instance, if you want to give your customers the selection of various colors of flowers, you would type "Colors" into the Option Name field, then select Radio Buttons from Input Type and add colors to the options.

Each input type has unique advantages—text field allows a variety of input from the customer, dropdown menu and radio buttons allow one choice of several options, and checkbox allows multiple choices.

Advanced Options

If you want the product to show up on your website, make sure it is set to Enabled and Yes.

Cost of Goods: Here you can list how much you spend to create the product. This is for your personal records and doesn't show up anywhere the customer can see it.

Taxable: Select Yes or No to set whether the product is taxable. Workshops, classes, and other products will often be tax-free.

Your site does this on its own, but if there are any products you'd like to face towards certain searches, feel free to add various search engine keywords that you think would help customers find this product.

Add-On Products Active: If you would like to allow your customers to select add-on products with this arrangements (like balloons, stuffed animals, or chocolates), set to Yes.

That's it! Scroll back to the top and click Save Product and your new product will be visible on your site!

Website Add-On Products

Website add-on products may include stuffed animals, chocolate, balloons, or any other products. Add-ons cannot be purchased alone (ie. without a normal website product), and are commonly used as upsell items.
